Leslie M. Einhaus brings more than 20 years of experience in medical records, transcription, and quality assurance to her role as IMS | JM Chronologist Team Lead, blending industry expertise with a sharp eye for detail and a dedication to excellence. Her unique ability to merge medical and legal knowledge has made her an indispensable part of our team as we continue to provide high-quality medical expert witness services to clients nationwide.
In this spotlight, Leslie shares her journey to becoming a chronologist, what she values most about her work, and how IMS | JM’s core values resonate with her personal and professional growth.
Q: How did you get into this industry and find IMS | JM?
A: I have worked in the medical records, transcription, and QA fields for more than 20 years. I also have some legal experience from a previous role. The chronologist position seemed like a unique and interesting way to merge these areas.
I found IMS | JM through one of the independent medical experts who highly recommended the company and emphasized how interesting the work is. At the time, I worked primarily in transcription QA for the VA and was looking for something more diverse and challenging. When the position at IMS | JM was offered to me, I did not hesitate.
Q: What do you like most about your specific department and/or role?
A: I started at IMS | JM as a chronologist. Our department has grown from four in-house chronologists and a few remote chronologists to more than 20 combined. Our group is not just intelligent and talented; everyone likes what they do and is a pleasure to work with each day.
Working as a chronologist is challenging and never boring. In my role as the chronologist team lead, I interact with the chronologists, case managers, and, on occasion, paralegals and attorneys. I really enjoy the collaboration.
Q: What special strengths and unique skills do you offer clients and colleagues?
A: I pride myself on being dependable, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator—qualities that have been essential to my role at IMS | JM. My sharp eye for accuracy and commitment to excellence allow me to deliver precise, high-quality work that bridges the medical and legal fields seamlessly. I value collaboration and enjoy working closely with colleagues across departments to streamline workflows and ensure we meet our clients’ needs. These strengths, combined with my dedication to continuous improvement, enable me to contribute meaningfully to our team’s success and the trust we build with our clients.
Q: Would you like to share any stories, memories, or accomplishments?
A: I have been with IMS | JM since 2018 and have great memories from the early years, such as our Friday afternoon lunches in the conference room that we quickly outgrew. The company's growth has been remarkable—going from approximately 20 employees to where we are now, with more than 200 medical experts and numerous specialties we are able to provide to our clients.
I am proud of the team lead position I achieved last year and very grateful for the opportunity. I am also proud of how I have sharpened my critical thinking and technical skills, enabling me to thoroughly analyze each situation or question.

Q: Do you have any predictions or comments on industry trends?
A: I believe that medical experts’ roles in the legal field will not only remain vital but will continue to grow in significance as the demand for detailed, accurate medical insights increases. IMS | JM has tapped into a vast and expanding market, positioning itself as a leader in this space. With advancements in technology and a greater emphasis on expert-driven litigation, the opportunities for growth and innovation in this industry are nearly limitless.
