Q: How did you find/why did you choose JM?
A: I have a degree in criminal justice and I worked at the medical examiner’s office for nine years, so I have always had a healthy interest in the legal and medical fields. In my previous position, I advanced as far as I could and was looking for a new opportunity. It was then that I found JM by chance and saw an opening for a role as a chronologist. I thought it sounded interesting and I had a lot of the skills necessary to do the job. After my interview, I was very excited about the company, and I am glad JM took a chance on me.
Q: What do you like most about your specific department and/or role?
A: I enjoy working in the chronology department because we get to see the meat and potatoes of a case. We see how the accident happened, what injuries and treatments occurred, and how the injuries have, or have not, healed. While we do not always know the outcome, it is extremely interesting to put together the index of records for the expert.
Q: What internal accomplishment are you most proud of?
A: I am most proud of how I have been able to advance in my role at JM. I am now the chronology supervisor, and while there are challenges that come along with this position, I have a great team underneath me. Each member of my team is dedicated to creating the most reliable product for our experts to use.
Q: What do you think sets JM apart from competitors or other companies?
A: I believe JM’s willingness to go above and beyond to meet deadlines and provide the client with the most suitable expert is what sets JM apart.
Q: How do the JM core values align with your own?
A: I find that the core values of “Operate as One” and “Humble Confidence” are the two that most align with my own values. I am always ready to help a team member and support my team with whatever task is at hand. I know the value of being humble in your achievements and when it is time to lead, but also when it is time to follow.
Q: If you were an attorney-client (or an expert witness), what would you find most valuable about the process at JM?
A: If I was an attorney-client, I think the most valuable resource JM provides is our extensive expert panel. We have more than 400 experts in our network covering a wide variety of specialties. JM will also recruit an expert if a client has a need for one in a certain area of the country or in a specialty that we may not have covered yet.
