Susan deHoll, IMS | JM Senior Account Executive, plays a pivotal role in expanding our company’s reach across the Southeast and beyond. Her medical and business perspective—combined with a passion for building relationships and delivering exceptional service—has made her an invaluable part of our team as we continue to grow and support legal professionals across the region.
In this spotlight, Susan shares her journey with IMS | JM, what she loves about her role, and how our core values align with her personal approach to client care.
Q: How/why did you get into this industry?
A: I have known Dr. Gilbert Meadows for 27 years, and when my husband—a seasoned medical expert who completed his residency under Dr. Meadows—learned that he had founded Juris Medicus, we knew it would succeed in South Carolina. With a background in physical therapy and a master’s in health science, I had a strong medical foundation that was complemented by experience in marketing. I wholeheartedly believed in the process and the vision that JM, now part of IMS, was bringing to life. The opportunity to support its expansion to a new state (SC), especially with my husband, was truly exciting.
Q: Why did you choose IMS | JM?
A: I wanted a role that combined the excitement of connecting with people and the freedom to approach tasks freely. I am energized by positions that trust me to be independent and creative, where I can try new methods and make a meaningful impact through my work and relationships.
Q: What do you like most about your specific department and/or role?
A: I am passionate about engaging with people, meeting new clients, and building lasting relationships. I have complete confidence in our product—our top-notch physicians—and our process, supported by an outstanding sales team, a fantastic expert recruitment team, and a case management team that ensures everything runs seamlessly. It is exciting to introduce this exceptional service to those who may not be familiar with it but genuinely need it, knowing we offer a complete, trustworthy solution.
Q: What internal accomplishment are you most proud of?
A: I am most proud of helping to grow IMS | JM in the Carolinas and Georgia with the support of an entire team.
Q: What do you think sets IMS | JM apart from competitors or other companies?
A: Our team is responsive to clients and cares for not only them but also our experts and one another. I have a particular client who compares using us to walking into Saks with a glass of champagne—that is the type of service she expects every time she uses us, and I love that analogy. I truly believe that we are first-class in this business.
Q: How do the IMS | JM core values align with your own?
A: When IMS | JM first announced the core values as part of our merger, I thought, “This is easy. This is how I expect my family to treat each other.” The company values are common-sense ways to treat the people around you and those you work with.
Q: If you were an attorney-client (or an expert witness), what would you find most valuable about the process at IMS | JM?
A: For clients, we prioritize quick response times, easy access to our team and their assigned medical expert, and a commitment to meeting deadlines. Each client is paired with a dedicated account executive for personalized support in their region, as well as an assigned case manager who ensures all needs and timelines are met.
For experts, we provide dedicated case managers who handle the details of their cases, a streamlined calendar to help them stay organized, and an index of relevant records prepared in advance to ensure smooth and efficient case management.
Q: Do you have any predictions or comments on industry trends?
A: I have been with the company for nearly four years, and in every new meeting, I still hear the same comment: “Where have you been? We really need this.” I see great potential for continued growth into more states, with a focus on expanding at a careful and strategic pace while maintaining the company’s integrity and original mission.
Q: What has been your favorite case to work on so far?
A: I love connecting with clients and learning about the cases they bring to me. This is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable aspects of my job. While I cannot share specifics, I can say that each day is filled with surprises, keeping things unpredictable and endlessly fascinating!
